This complete unit teaches students to recognise and respond to safe and unsafe situations. They learn to read body signals, use assertive strategies like ‘No-Go-Tell’, seek help and identify trusted adults. Students explore body privacy, consent and online safety, including protecting personal information and using devices responsibly. The unit also builds resilience through understanding personal strengths, identity and emotional regulation. In PE, students explore physical activity through a historical lens, learning how cultures stayed active. They develop fundamental movement skills, such as side gallop, overarm and underarm throw, and kick while setting goals and participating in engaging games.
The PDHPE K–6 units are designed as a 16-lesson sequence, comprising of 8 PDH lessons and 8 PE lessons, with 4 optional consolidation lessons.
The lessons are written in sequence to show the flow of learning and the building of concepts across lessons. To implement the syllabus and meet teaching requirements, teachers are expected to teach one PDH and one PE lesson each week.
Duration: 8 weeks + 2 weeks optional consolidation (16-lesson sequence, comprising of 8 PDH lessons and 8 PE lessons, with 4 optional consolidation lessons.)

Respectful Relationships Education and Child Protection
Child protection education is mandatory in every stage of learning from Kindergarten to Year 10 as part of the Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) K–10 Syllabus.
The lessons in this unit provide a clear and structured approach to teaching respectful relationships education and child protection. By implementing this unit, schools will meet the mandatory child protection content requirements.
Creating a safe, respectful and inclusive classroom
Before delivering sensitive content, staff should complete a self-awareness check-in with themselves and a trusted supervisor to prepare emotionally and professionally.
As some of the content in the PDH lessons in this unit may be deemed as sensitive or controversial, they should be reviewed, before use, to ensure they are appropriate for the school context. Please refer to the Controversial issues in schools procedure for further details.
For this content to be effective, staff must ensure they are creating a supportive environment, informing parents and carers, preventing public disclosures and are ready to use protective interrupting while following mandatory Child Protection reporting policies.

This is a complete and comprehensive unit which will save you hours of preparation time. It is important at the start of each lesson that you read the teaching notes as there is some Lesson preparation needed for some lessons. These include printing sets of cards in some lessons, printing worksheets for assessment purposes so that work samples are available for each child.
