Social Story-VIRTUAL ONLINE LEARNING DURING COVID

A social story is an effective way to teach children how to navigate a new situation, such as starting school or preschool or in this instance learning to go to school ‘virtually’.

Social stories can help children understand what to expect at school or preschool.

Encouraging children to try using independence in problem solving in situations where safety is a prime concern, is a common social skill that needs to be frequently addressed. 

As educators we need to explicitly teach these skills.

This story can be used to help children to broaden their technology skills and learn to work in a new learning environment away from school.
