This comprehensive pack is suitable for Distance learning as there is a Google Slides version included in the pack, so that it can be used in printed format or with a variety of devices that are able to utilise Google Slides. A PDF is included which has a link to the online version which will prompt you to make a copy first.

The fonts will be different than the ones in the Powerpoint version

Each pack contains a set of activities for each spelling list.

• Instructions included in each of the sets of word lists

• On each page there is a new set of list words for you to practice (see the word list below)

• Firstly read each word in the word list

• Then copy and write each word 3 times

• Lastly, each letter has a value. Work out how much each word is worth using the table provided.

Term 1

The sounds /n/ spelt ‘kn’ and less often ‘gn’ at the beginning of words.

The sounds /r/ spelt ‘wr’ at the beginning of words.

The sound /l/ spelt with ‘-il’ and ‘-al’ at the end of words.

The sound /j/ spelt with ‘-dge’ and ‘-ge’ at the end of words.

The sound /j/ often spelt with g before e, i and y.

The sound /j/ always spelt with ’j’ before a, o and u.

The sound /l/ spelt with ‘-le’ at the end of words.

The sound /l/ spelt with ‘-el’ at the end of words.

The sound /l/ spelt with ‘-il’ and ‘-al’ at the end of words.

The sound /igh/ spelt with ‘-y’ at the end of word.

 

Term 2

Week 1

Adding –ed, -er and –est to a word ending in –y with a consonant before it.

Week 2

Adding –ing to a word ending in –y with a consonant before it.

Week 3

Adding –ing, –ed, -er and -y to words ending in

–e with a consonant before it.

Week 4

Adding –ing, –ed, -er and -est and –y to words of one syllable ending in a single consonant after a single vowel.

Week 5

The sound/or/spelt ‘a’ before l or ll

Week 6

Common exception to the rule words.

Week 7

The sound /u/ spelt with ‘o’

Week 8

The sound /ee/ spelt with ‘-ey’

Week 9

The /o/ sound spelt with ‘a’ after w and qu
